Very good demand for todays large offering of feeder cattle that consisted of several consignment offering multiple loads in the same sort, plenty of part loads and packages available as well. Most cattle were long time weaned, fully vaccinated and attractive for quality. Flesh conditions ranged from light fleshed hay fed cattle to moderate plus back grounded cattle. Farmer feeders, order buyers and internet buyers made for an active market as cattle feeders try to maintain some inventory. Semi-annual cattle inventory report showered a beef cow herd smaller than a year ago, with heifer retention showing a less than 1% increase. No sale next week due to the Black Hills Stock Show. Next feeder sale is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026
