Market report for Tuesday, January 20, 2026
Data sourced from USDA AMS
View USDA PDF VersionCompared to last week, steers and heifers sold mostly steady. A few exceptions were the thinner fleshed 600-650 lb heifers and a couple stick out sales of fancy 5 weight calves selling 10.00-15.00 higher. Overall, the market was a little more uneven as it followed the quality and condition offered. There were more calves and yearlings either carrying some flesh or of slightly plainer quality than the last couple weeks but there were plenty of top end consignments still offered. Demand was good to very good for another heavy supply and several of the heifers sold were going home to make cows.
