View USDA PDF VersionCompared to last week, steers under 500 lbs sold sharply higher on limited comparisons; Over 500 lbs sold 2.00 to 8.00 higher. Heifers sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Demand was good to very good as buyers were procuring needs with only one week left of marketing prior to the holiday break. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 3.00 higher. Kansas negotiated fed cattle sales sold 5.00 higher at 230.00. This past week in the hay market, Hay movement was mostly steady this past week. Increased moisture across the state limited some producers' ability to move hay. There is still an abundance of grinder-quality hay, putting slight pressure on prices. High-quality alfalfa remains in high demand and is moving quickly.
