View USDA PDF VersionCompared to last week: Top end steers that are light enough to be turned out back to grass traded mostly 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Good feeding type yearlings weighing over 800 pounds off the wheat traded mostly 1.00 to 5.00 lower. All other classes of steer and heifer calves sold mostly 10.00 to 20.00 lower. Quality was mixed, with increased buyer demand and trading activity noted on higher end cattle and replacement quality heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls traded mostly 2.00 to 4.00 higher. The board closed back in the green today following the sharply lower closes yesterday. A slight chance of rain is forecasted for the Eastern Panhandle counties this evening. Otherwise hot and windy conditions continue throughout the rest of the week.
